sunday Bonus Play (feature game - reg.play)
st.peters -1
st peters has lost 5 straight games against fairfield and to make the things clear right away, i dont expect them to win easy tomorrow. actually i expect a tight game here but i believe st peters is in a good position to win this game and thats exactly what we need with this short number. both teams won there previous games, fairfield has the historical edge, and they are also the better ranked team. but st peters is favored and here is why. first of all, this is fairfields 7th straight game away from home, and third road game in only 6 days. they started the season 7-1 su and 7-1 ats but since then they are 1-3 su and 0-2-1 ats. that one win (by 5 points) in last 4 games was at elon college, a team who lost there previous 3 games by 23, 39 and 17 pts. so, fairfield seems to be showing some signs of fatigue here. three of there 4 road wins overall have been by 5 pts, and all four of there wins were against teams ranked 201 or worst. they are 0-2 on the road against teams ranked better than #200, and i have st peters ranked #179 over all and #161 at home. fairfield lost last 3 as underdog, goind 1-2 ats in the process. three of there last 5 games at st peters have been close affaires, with them winning by 2 twice, and losing by 2 once. however, st peters seems to be a bit better team this year.thru 12 games they are 7-5. last year thru 12 games they were 5-7 and the year before they were 1-11.they are 4-0 su at home this year winning three times by double digits. and dating back to last year, they are 7-1 su at home in last 8, as well as 9-0 su and 8-0-1 ats in last 9 as favs. this is a sandwich fav game for them, as they were dogs in there last game and they will be dogs in there next game. in this spot, st peters is 5-0 su/ats in last 5.finally, as 4- favs, they are 7-0 su and 6-0-1 ats in last 7 overall, as well as 11-2 su and 10-2-1 ats in last 13 at home.in there last two games, they went 2-0 su/ats winning on average by 13 pts, against canisius and at siena, the teams that they were 1-3 su/ats against last season, loing on average by 9 pts pg. in there last two home revenge hames they went 2-0 su/ats improving on average by 23½ ppg. in the proces, they won against siena for the first time in 14 tries. they have some extra rest here (4 days), against only 2 days of rest for fairfield. brutal road trip and lack of rest vs hot home team should produce a home cooking win. gl everyone, ptw.
